Arrived in KL (Kualalampur) by train. The berths were twice as wide as those on Indian trains

KL after sunset: The famous landmarks of KL are visible. The left side of the canal marks the beginning of Little India
A cute temple (buddhist?)
Petronas twin towers as seen from a street in Little India
A mono rail station
Monorail tracks skirts a masjid. On the left of and below the tracks is a small Hindu temple (of Muruga?) where devotees were singing, ringing temple bells and beating drums. I felt as if I was in Chennai or in Matunga (Mumbai)
The monoral station at Bukit Bintang-the city centre: close to where I stayed. The train is cute (how about the girls in the advt?)
A view of the main junction (at 11pm) below the Bukit Bintang monorail station
One monorail wizzed past another stationary one in the opposite direction (thank god, on another track!).
Two football players from an African country came to participate in a tournament and try their luck. The location is Bukit Bintang junciton
Pedestrians waiting for the green signal to cross the road at 11pm in the night.
The road leading to the Hindu temple in Puduraya; The road marks the left boundary of Little china in KL
The gateway to Little china
Notice the simpler spelling of “post code” (poskod). Malaysians, similar to frenchmen, omit word final consonants. Even the grammar of 'Bahasa Malay' (the official language) is similar to that of french. The adjectives follow the noun. In Malay, Jalan => road; bukit (t is silent) => hill
The Puduraya junction close to the main (long distance) bus terminal. I boarded a bus going towards genting. The price of the ticket covers the travel by cable car to the top (genting) as well.
A cute looking hotel at puduraya junction
Indian film award function poster and McDonald's at Puduraya junction
A regular (intracity) train travels above the road
On the way to genting. A thai got the window seat. So, I had to lean and click photos. Here he is looking at the high rise apartment buildings.
Old (in foreground) maketh way for new (in the background)
A cute buddhist temple
Batu caves (holy for Hindus) is visible at a distance (white lime stone rocks on distant hills)
Diversion to Batu caves. The road to genting goes to right.

Bernam jaya. Quite a few cities have the suffix 'jaya' (means victory in Sanskrit). Also the suffix 'baharu' (meaning new [new york]) is common.
The High commission of Pakistan in a colonial style building situated almost opposite the tourist information centre (and not far from petrona twin towers). It was so peaceful. I did not even sight a watchman; contrast this with the security such a mission has in New Delhi!

Getting ready to celebrate the golden jubilee of nationhood
A malaysian family was enjoying an outing at 11:18pm, and agreed to pose for a photo.
A roadside restaraunt. Despite the glare of neon signs, moon shines like a diamond on a ring!
